Davis Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA) apply to all federal or District of Columbia construction contracts or federally assisted contracts in excess of $2,000. Contractors and subcontractors performing work on these projects are required to pay employees mimimum wage rates and fringe benefits by work classifications. The minimum amounts are based upon prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits for corresponding construction work classifications employed on similar projects in the area. The Secretary of Labor determines the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits for inclusion in covered contracts.
